Martin Carver House

This vacation home was designed for a social couple with grown children. Guiding design principles were sustainable building practice, achieving a visual connection from the south entrance to the north waterfront, as well as the provision of expansion space for accommodating multiple guests. The initial schematic drawings shown here depict a living space able to be heated during winter visits, while allowing the unused remainder of the house be heated only as required. The project was brought to a schematic level of design completion and passed on to a family member who acted as general contractor for permitting and construction.
